Zebras are white with black stripes and are members of the horse family. Zebras are native to Africa. There is no true intermixing or interbreeding of the species.
The Plains Zebra of Africa is the most common species. It has roughly twelve subspecies distributed throughout Africa.
The Mountain Zebra is native to southwest region of Africa and generally has narrower stripes. The Mountain Zebra is an endangered species.
